Welcome to December, we got fun and games

Once again, I’ll be trying to post more often.  We all know how that goes, however.  I start, I’m good for a few days, then I drop off.  I can’t help it that there’s not always something interesting happening in my life.  I don’t want to bore you, my two or three readers, you know.

If you read the last post, well, work is going well.  I’m learning a lot whilst breaking things (although not my fault).  Sometimes I feel like a complete moron, but that’s probably just an issue I have.

It’s quite difficult to believe that 2010 is winding down already.  It’s already nearly time to make those New Year’s resolutions that we all break on, oh, January 2.  Have you already decided on what you aren’t going to do in 2011?  😉

*total aside* Mariska Hargitay is a beautiful woman.  Yeah, I’m watching SVU.

On the subject of 2011, in January, I get the sweet opportunity to do a little Zumba during halftime of the Nuggets game in January.  Now, if I could just get around to learning that dance, lol,  If you’re in Colorado or New Orleans (I’m pretty sure they’re playing NO), maybe you’ll get to catch that halftime gig on TV.

I hope you’ll bear with me here.  I know this is kinda ramble-y, but I’m trying to get back to my former blogging form.  If you’d like to read from when I was more coherent, there are plenty of entries to check out right after I import them, lol.

Regardless, I thank you, three readers, for stopping by.  It’ll get better so tell your friends.  Until later….

Vacuum of Suck

ROCO Fridays – I'm way too lazy.

Fridaylutions – I'm slipping fast.

I am a vacuum of suck.  There's just emptiness floating around in my head these days.  Maybe my mind is still in Park City.  Yeah, that must be it.

I absolutely must get back into the gym next week!  I think that when I'm exercising I have a lot more focus.  Silly gym changed a lot of the classes that I wanted to go to.  Suckage!  Now I have to come up with my own exercise routine.

Hmmm, there's a lot of complaining going on here.  I have to stop that now.

In a moment of happiness, it is at least Friday and it is a long weekend.  AND, bonus on top of bonus, Kiddo is knocking out all of her volunteer work this weekend which means Lovey and I have the house to ourselves for the majority of the day Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

And I got an unexpected little bit of money today.  Which means I can buy an outfit to wear on Sunday.  The rest of it goes to paying bills.  Yay! (It is surprisingly difficult to find something slutty, that's not too over the top for me, here in Miami.)

Knock on wood, I have avoided all of the colds and sickness that are floating around.  Emergen-C to the rescue baby.

Now that I'm feeling a little more motivated, I think I'll give myself some bullet points to take care of during the upcoming week.

  • Over the weekend, I must create a workout for myself. (any links, suggestions, or podcasts would be apprciated)
  • Also over this weekend, I have to catch up with school.  Networking classes really suck!
  • It's time for a good housecleaning too
  • Saturday pedicure, maybe manicure too
  • Eh, you know, stuff.

I hope that you all have a great weekend (a great long weekend if you have Monday off).

Wednesdays are for humping

Why not?  Virginia is for lovers.  Can you imagine the ruckus on Wednesdays in Virginia?

I haven't much to say about this week.  I started my gym regimen on Monday and that was good.  An abs and ass class that has left me sore two days later.  Bonus that there was only one other person in the class other than the instructor.  Tuesday evening was yoga.  It's an intro class that goes into the names of poses, some background, and some actual poses.  It's kind of slow moving, but it's okay since I'm still learning some stuff.

As if that weren't enough, this morning I had another yoga class (different place) where I was the only student.  Completely awesome as I got personalized instruction on getting my poses just right.  I think we did some more advanced poses.  And I really need to work on my balance.  Even though the instructor was "assisting" me at points, I still almost knocked her over when I was doing Utthita Hasta Padangustasana.  I'm no yoga expert, but I would imagine that this isn't something that you ask someone to do who has been to yoga a few times.  At any rate, it was an excellent class and the same teacher runs the Friday Pilates class so I'm happy about that.

Tomorrow morning I have my first of two personal training sessions.  I need a set circuit routine for the days I hit the gym and am not taking a class.  I'm making it easy for the guy.

I'll be ending the week with the aforementioned Pilates class and I may take off Saturday and Sunday, but that remains to be seen.

SIGH.  Could someone please tell me how I could justify shelling out more cash to obtain certification in personal training?  I'm already in a Bachelor's program and it isn't as though I don't plan on finishing it, I just enjoy the exercise and making people sweat a little more than I do the computer.  People are always wanting to get in shape, right?  I guess that goes on the back burner for now.

I've said a lot for someone with nothing to say.  I hope that this week either starts to or continues to treat you all right.  have a good one!

5/30 – Here comes the sun

Not that this is my third year experiencing daylight savings time, but in my three years here, I always forget why I don't like it.  And now, I remember.  In the "summer", the sun isn't always all the way up on my way to work and it's at a decent height when I come home.  But in this, the "winter",

….a lovely day…..brought to you by Januvia….tell your doctor right away if it affects your breathing….a lovely daaaaayyy….

on the way in to work, the sun is right in my eyes no matter if I put my visor down or not and on the way home, it's the same.  It's because I'm too damn short for my visor to be effective, of course.  Damn genetics.

If I hear one more person say that they do not want gay folks to have the right to be married, I am going to vomit.  I cannot stand intolerance.  Including any politician, our President-elect is not exempt from my regurgitation.  DAMMIT!

Once again, I hate when medication in the form of capsules breaks somewhere in my throat and I burp dust.  Any idea how foul that is?

…..make the switch to Comcast Digital Voice……pay to get the NFL Network (when it's included with DirecTv)…..it's Combastardcastic……….

I do realize that I'm rambling here but I don't really have anything to say today.  In 30 straight days of posting, you really can expect at least three days of blathering idiot from me.  Maybe on Friday, I'll blog while I'm hopped up on pain killers and muscle relaxers.  That should be fun, no?

Oh, my phone rang and I didn't recognize the number so I didn't pick it up.  Oddly enough, whomever it was left a message.  In Spanish.  I had to take it to Lovey for translation.  He giggled like mad.  I figured it was a wrong number, but it was some lady asking if I wanted to make an appointment to get my hair cut on Friday or Saturday.  And to say hello to my husband and my family.  I was halfway tempted to call her back, but you know, I've got dreds so they don't get cut and Lovey shaves his head.  Kiddo has a lady she goes to, so poor Mirta gets no business.

……want to green your own power?  Try a solar backpack!…..planet green……

I think that you've had enough torture for today.  I don't want you to stop reading forever.  See you tomorrow.

The preceding program was brough to you by random commercials on TV while I was typing.

The week in review, btw ROCO

Hiya loyal readers <snicker> and those who just stumble upon.  On with all the nothing that happened in my world this week.

  • I think that we're all growing increasingly tired of politics.  I'll skip over all that jazz, except for one little photo to be posted a little later.
  • It's been a quiet week in la casa de MiamiShyner.  Lots of exercise going on and I've managed to get down to 125.  I am still shooting for 120, but hey, I just don't think my body is interested.
  • There are officially 2 weeks until I go under the knife. (Double S, if you're reading this, yes, I know how you feel, but I also know you'll still love me 😛 )  I shall be looking fantastic for my 35th birthday as per the plan.
  • I got to see a really cool Cirque du Soleil demo since Corteo will be in town soon.
  • IMG_1182IMG_1183IMG_1196IMG_1201IMG_1205

  • I thought I was cute the other day….
    Me

  • I have the worst case of raccoon eyes EVER.  I guess they've always been like that.  I'm working on fixing it though.  Do love that my hair is finally getting long.  Let's see if I have something with which to compare from a few years ago.
  • Me

There.  It's actually laying down and dare I say cascading over my shoulders now.  HA!  Oh, yeah, and I actually had makeup on in the picture on the left.

  • Pretty stoked that I'll officially be smart in another 51 days.  Completion of an Associates degree that really doesn't mean much.  Especially in south Florida where no one pays pretty much no matter what/who you know.
  • Can I go back to bartending now please?  Pretty please?  No?  Ok fine. Well, not fine, but I'll deal with it for a while longer.
  • Ooooh, big, BIG excitement is that we've reached the two-digit number countdown until vacation.  We've got a big group going this year so it should be mega-fun.  Park City again since we enjoyed it so much last year.  I'll be daily blogging from there like last year, but without any big announcements like an engagement. :-)
  • We got this house for this year at last year's price, so we're pretty happy about that part too.
  • Our previous moving destination was Salt Lake City.  We're shying away from that now and leaning more towards the Boulder area.  I've seen some fantastic houses out there and they are reasonably priced.  With yards!
  • Oh, Saturday night Lovey and I went over to Octobeerfest.  $25 for all you can drink.  There was beer from all over, rum and vodka.  A whole bunch of people, mostly college kids, watching football and putting away booze.  Good times.  We still fit in as far as looking the age of the college kids unlike some of the old farts who were there trying to pick up younguns.
  • Yesterday, driving home, I saw this bumper sticker:

Not sure if it was a joke or what since we have a lot of young Republicans in our area.  I just found it amusing.  And mildly disturbing.

SO yeah, that's the week in review.  It is Friday as well, so let the congregation say….

ROCO!!

Peace out and have a great weekend everyone!!
