Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

May those of you who celebrate or have the luck of the Irish have a wonderful day. Assuming that you’re not already hungover from the weekend.

Today is certainly going to be a manic Monday, although it’s really Manic Thursday which is a joke you will only get if you are deep inside the circle of trust.

I missed another day of blogging yesterday but I’m over beating myself up about it. Nothing of tremendous interest happened anyway. We cleaned both the front and back yard. I actually skipped going to the trapeze to help with yardwork. I’m quite possibly losing it.

It’s gonna be a short one today because today through Wednesday, the most senior member of my team is out so I’ll have a lot of slack to pick up. Wish me luck and no strangling.

Erin Go Braugh and green beer and all that jazz.

Just lovely

Today:

  • Sleep in
  • Hazelnut coffee
  • Maple bacon
  • $97 worth of clothes for the $42 dollars they should be priced
  • Favorite yoga instructor (girl crush)
  • Mmmmmmmmmmmmmassage
  • So much dinner
  • Long, hot shower
  • Good night

ROCO Friday – Where I Wear Pajamas And Live Life Slow

Happy Friday!!

Let’s talk for a moment about the things for which I am thankful.

  • My family and I are healthy
  • Roof over head? Check.
  • Food in belly? Check.
  • Employed? Check.

But the thing I’m most thankful for today is that it is Friday which equates to my work from home day which equates to pajamas all day. There’s just something that makes the day that much more tolerable when I’m not confined in work clothes and shoes and the bathroom is a hell of a lot closer to my desk. Also, I’m that much further away from necks that are about to be wrung. I guess part of being the boss is having to occasionally hand out some Homer Simpson style punishment. Why you little!

I seriously had to just play this song to calm down.

I almost feel as though I should try to write tomorrow’s post today because tomorrow is full of yay. First, I won’t get up at 5 to work out. I’ll sleep in until 8 and then work out. Yummy breakfast time. Peaceful coffee time. Yardwork time which is more peaceful time. Hooray for yoga workshop time. And then an even bigger hooray for massage time. Can’t wait.

Ahh, 2 in the afternoon and I just realized that I have my undies on inside out. This is what I get for wearing undies.

I hope that your weekend is filled with whatever makes you happy. ROCO!

Wham!

Happy Throwback Thursday, boys and girls!

I may have talked about this before, but let’s take it back, shall we? It’s 1988 or so and back in the day we had this craptastic little night club that had an under 21 night. Phase III, what what? So every Sunday it was time to bug my parents to try to get them to let me go and also be involved in the pickup or drop off procedures. Sometimes that worked, sometimes it didn’t. When it did work, I would do my best to get all cute-ed up so I could go dance at the club.

Like any good club, the dance floor had both a floor area and a small stage area where folks could go if they wanted to show off their mad skillz. Every now and again, we would get the balls to go up there, but mostly we were floor folk. There were definitely cutie patootie (by 1988 standards) boys up on the stage that we all enjoyed drooling over. Matt and Ronnie if you must know. I wonder where they are now. Anywho…

Just like so many other events that are a ton of fun up until this point, there were slow songs so us kids could grind on each other in public. Instant wallflower. But, the grand majority of my friends were blooming right alongside me, so it wasn’t too bad. One night, as we were on our way to the garden, I was stopped by a young man who asked me to dance. I am pretty certain that I was floored although probably not as floored as my friends. Bonus two video day, I never hear this song without thinking back to that night.

Whole buncha nothing today folks. Hope your day has been better than the 7 hours it’s taken me to get this posted. J

Wicky Wicky Wednesday

Owwwww! She’s a brick. House.

Ok, so maybe not just yet, but I’m well on my way. Upped my weights a tiny bit this morning (everything in 2.5 pound intervals because that’s the way our adjustable weights are set up) so I’m sure I’ll be feeling that tomorrow. Maybe less with the Herbalife version of the “recovery drink” flowing through my system. And splits progress! In my stretching this morning, I’m at the point where, on my good leg (left foot forward), I can no longer get the yoga block under my crotchetal region – it gets lodged on my big ass right ass cheek. I call that a win. I can still get the block under with the right foot forward, but it’s getting closer. I think I was giving myself 3 more months to get that left split to the floor, but it’s possible that I get there sooner. Does anyone know a good rate of stretching progress? Like inches per week/month?

For the three people that regularly read this, be warned that I am considering changing up the format of this blog from PG-13 to R with an occasional X mixed in for good measure. It may become a lot more open, a lot more raunchy, and probably a heck of a lot more funny. Your clue will be when the entire layout of the page has changed.

I know that two or three of you out there are doing some form of P90X currently. How’s that going for you? The first two weeks are TOUGH (especially if you’re doing the first P90X), but hang in there! Work through the soreness, modify where you need to, but just keep moving. I promise that if you keep trying, you will see results. Oh, also if you don’t eat like crap. You’ll still see results, but nothing like you would see if you were eating well. J  Chime in and let me know where you’re at!

The habits are feeling more like habits so it’s about time to add something new. I have my shake, my grapefruit, my milk (Lactaid skim) through the shake, and now it’s time to add in the Glucosamine regiment. Perhaps it will help to lube up the joints around the hips just enough for that final push for the split. The biggest issue is finding a good time to take them because they have a lot of fish oil and the very last thing I want is to be tasting that all day. OMG so gross. I’m thinking that maybe with dinner would be a good time since my activity level is usually fairly low after about 8pm. We’ll see how that works out.

Alrighty then, that’s my brain dump for the hump (day). Get out there and push yourself to do your best!
