ROCO Friday – The Always Hungry Edition

<grrrrrooowwwllll>

That's my stomach, good people.  No need for alarm.  Why is she making such noise?  Probably because she wants to be fed but has no self-control whatsoever.  She'll just keep stretching and stretching and saying "Feed me more!"  I had to put the kaibosh on her fun.  I do, after all, have goals. (Which I will now list for my own good.  Feel free to bloop-bloop-bloop, as PittGirl would say, past this part if you wish.)

The Shorts – In the next six months

  • Stretch enough to be able to get into that damn split on both sides.  Progress is being made.
  • Way less than in six months, lose 8.4 more pounds.  120 is the goal.
  • More importantly but still less than six months, reduce body fat percentage by 4 to 5 percent.
  • Regain a lot of upper body strength so I can……..
  • Once again (hopefully) perform by December.
  • Obtain AA in Business Administration (not because I'm interested in BA, but it was my only choice).
  • BOOBS!  Happy birthday to me.  Is it odd that I've had this discussion with my brother?  Boobs are only as long as recovery doesn't interfere with performing.

The Mids – Six months to one year

  • Spend one week in this house in this city.  Get on your board and RIDE!
  • Decide what I want to be when I grow up.
  • Hit the lottery….yeah, yeah, I know.
  • Oh, ride some blues.  Put away the skirt!
  • Lay off the booze.  Maybe a glass of wine per evening but as much as I love Heiney Light, it does not make for a light hiney.  I've lost my taste for my beloved Ketel One Citroen so I guess that's it.

The Longs – One to three years

  • Get hitched.  Togas, kids.  Put aside for a moment that it's a wedding and let me know if you like any of the pictured ones or please feel free to link to any cool ones you've seen.
  • toga4toga3toga2toga1

  • Graduate – maybe even with honors.
  • Move the hell out of Miami and hopefully never come back.
  • Own a house that has a space just for ME.  Nobody else gets to put their stuff in that room!  Yes, I am five years old.

The circus is in town.  I might need to hit the lottery sooner so I can do/see all the circus I want. 🙂

Ha!  Vox just decided that I was done and posted this, so I guess I'm done.  Have a great weekend, all.  And please, whatever you do, don't forget……

Mount up Monday – The Ole! edition

Happy Monday morning, Voxiverse!  (Or feliz manana de lunes, I think)

Not only is it Cinco de Mayo (not Mexican Independence Day), but it's a Mount up Monday.  That's right, get on your horses and ride!

I wish to the heavens that I was off today, enjoying margaritas and basically getting sloppy falling down drunk with the rest of the revelers, but alas, I have bills to pay so I'm at work.  I will have to settle for mango margaritas when we get home. (Made with fresh mangos off the tree in the back yard, deee-licious!)

Speaking of mangos, our tree is exploding with those bad boys so it will be time soon for my mango-cheesecake delight.  So tasty.

The weekend was as good as a weekend could be.  Tons of fun on Friday night watching the Marlins knock around the Padres.  Most of Saturday was spent catching up on homework.  I've really got to try to plan better so I don't end up doing that.  Much more interesting things to be done on a beautiful Saturday afternoon.  Sunday was errand day and more homework.

I can't even begin to put into words the way the time is just flying by.  I honestly used to dread Mondays, but now I actually look forward to them because it means I'm one week closer to gettin that paper.  I started looking into Microsoft certifications and nearly swallowed my tongue when I found out how expensive the classes are.  And it isn't like there's just one class.  I'm just guessing here, but I think it would cost me another 10 grand to get two certifications, and that could very well be an underestimate.  Yikes!  Oh well, one step at a time.  I'm trying to self-teach myself PHP since I do know a little about it.  I've got this 200 page tutorial to get through.  After that, SQL.  The fun never ends.

Maybe I'll give myself some goals for the week on MUM.  Here's this week:

  • Finish homework before Friday
  • Stretch for at least an hour daily (pole class in one week!)
  • Read 20 pages of the tutorial

Yeah, that's enough.  I'll start small.

Well, I hope that you all pasen un buen dia.  Hasta luego…..

2008: Almost 1/12th over already

Yeah, how about that number?  Certainly not as bad as: 34, life's approaching half over.  A little dark this morning?  Yes.  But dark with a smile. 🙂

So seeing as how we're almost done with this first month already, I thought that I would revisit my 2008 goals and see how I'm doing.

  1. Learn to speak Spanish – Right.  I've really been slacking on this one although there is more Spanish being spoken in the house recently.
  2. Attain the body that I want to have – I had it for a few days.  Nothing like a vacation in which you LOSE weight while still eating like a piggy.  Now I'm all fat and bloated again and I really have to start working out.  Thank you, Cosmo, and magazines in the same line for making me think that I need to be thinner than I am.  Screw you anyways.
  3. Figure out what I want to be when I grow up – CHALLENGE COMPLETED!  I really don't know why it even took me so long to realize this one.  I've always had a morbid fascination with crime, crime scene, and investigations, hence my love of stuff like Law and Order, CourtTV (now trutv), Dr G: Medical Examiner, and a host of Patricia Cornwell books.  Why not put it to use?  Shooting to be some sort of CSI.
  4. Get back to school – CHALLENGE COMPLETED!  I am officially enrolled in an online university and should begin my classes in early February if all goes through with the financial aid.  I will be first completing my Associates in Business Administration (there ya go boss lady, good enough for ya?) and following that with my Bachelors in Criminal Justice.  Go me!  I'm excited about this.
  5. A year and a day – The time in February has not come yet.  Excused.
  6. Work from home – I'm still driving into the office.  It's still driving me crazy.
  7. Write more – BAD Shyner.  I haven't written much of anything although things keep popping into my head, mostly in dreams.  That formula for love is just out of my grasp.  Maybe I can drink it into reach.  HA!

Okay, so 2 down, 4 in progress and one not started.  Not to terribly bad but nothing great either.  Must.  Try.  Harder.  And I will.  Happy Tuesday folks.
