ROCO Friday – Muzikality

Mm, chh, mmmm, chh, mmm, chh.  Catch the beat.  Mmm, chh, mmm, chh, mmm, chh.

ROCO!

First off, to my PA peeps.  If you knew the band Sideshow Bob, and have any of their CDs (Untucked, Have We Met, Dig The New Steps) and would be willing to share, PLEASE let me know.  Untucked is the one I want the most though. If I can't find it like this, I'm going to have to send a random email to their former lead singer to ask him for it.  Strange but true, especially since I don't know him.

Let us take a moment and reflect on the impact of music in our lives.  Preach that!

This morning driving in, I was treated to the first song I knew of Ozzy, Shot in the Dark.  I immediately fell in love with this song after hearing it only one time.  Vox dosen't want to upload songs right now for me, so I can't share any Ozzy.  Boo.  But it's Friday and payday, so ROCO!

Some days, I wanna ROCO, and entertain you, but my mind just isn't in it.  Today is one of those days.  So, on this ROCO payday, I leave you with wishes for an excellent weekend.  One that gives you the warm and fuzzies and makes for great stories on Mount Up Monday!

Peace, love and hair grease.

The Totally Tantalizing, Tip-Top, Terrific, Two Times Tuesday (hoo ha) Things

Long-winded?  Me?  Shut up!  No way!  That's a lotta intro for a list. 🙂

Things that sit as well with me as a bowl full of ice cream in a lactose-intolerant tummy:

  • The amount of tired I am currently experiencing.  Can't find my energy anywhere.  Who stolt it?
  • A limited food intake that does nothing towards my goal of not weighing too much for my height/body type.
  • The fact that the first two more than likely go together.
  • Parking tickets on the beach.  Screw you parking authority.  You have no authority over me.  I spit on your $18 ticket (and then I pay it).
  • Today is my last day of peace for 42 more days.
  • Florida on fire.
  • Nothing has tasted right for the last two days except the bacon I "borrowed" from Lovey's omlette this morning.
  • Knowing I need to do things and not having the gumption to do them.

Things that feel like sunshine on my shoulders making me happy:

  • Walking into the house and looking at the pretty living room.
  • Pole classes even though they remind me that I am a slug that needs to stretch.
  • Fire-Roasted Tomato and Olive Oil Triscuits.  Deelish.  When paired with the Carribbean Chicken salad from Publix, it's like sex in your mouth (and not that he-just-had-asparagus-sex either).
  • Writing things that make people say, "DUDE! GROSS!"
  • MommaShyner getting an all-clear at her latest doctor's appointment.
  • Free scoop of ice cream today at Haagen Dazs!
  • Free iced coffee on Friday at Dunkin Donuts.  'Merica runs on Dunkin.
  • My soon-to-be-rearranged personal space.
  • My negative twin shooting through Miami this week, or at least he'd better.
  • QT with Lovey on the balcony.
  • Kiddo and her notebook notes.
  • The knowledge that I am about to take over the world and there is not a damn thing that anyone can do to stop me.
  • Writing things that make people say, "WTF is she talking about?!?!"
  • Sunshine on my shoulders.

Things that I am waiting for that are nearly making me explode with anticipation:

  • VACATION!  In 59 days I will be 1000% loving life, talking to squirrels on the deck while I have my morning coffee, hitting the hot tub at night, the sandbar during the day (along with nekkid boating), and equal world-rocking for Lovey and I.
  • MORE VACATION! A mere 262 days until we jet off to Park City where I can have two of the best massages I've ever had.  EVER.  One to warm me up for busting my ass on the mountain and one for relief from busting my ass on the mountain.  No one ever told me that black folks don't do winter sports, so sue me. 😛
  • GRADUATION! This one's still pretty far out on the horizon.  So many days that I don't have a count on it, but everything in my evil plan is progressing quite nicely.
  • MOVING! Miami can kiss the crack of my blac..oh, sorry, I forgot where I was.  Right, so I've had enough of Miami and am ready to leave city living.

That's all I've got for you.  I love you. What?  Oh, nothing.

Mount up Monday v5.12.08

Welcome back to the reality known as Monday.  Bad for some, worse for others, but for me, I just take them as they come.

So, let's just get the bad news out of the way first.  Last MUM, I set three goals for myself.  Let's see how I did.

  1. Finish homework by Friday – She shoots, she SCORES!  I actually had it all done.  I plan to do the same this week.
  2. Stretch for an hour daily – That slapshot missed WAY wide.  Not only did I not stretch for an hour daily, I didn't stretch at all.  Bad Shyner.  That just means I'll be in super pain tomorrow after class tonight.
  3. Read 20 pages of PHP tutorial – I just got shutout.  Yeah, I didn't do any of the reading.  I am such a mess, but I will do better this week.

So, if I didn't do any of that, then what DID I do last week?  Let's see.  Weekdays are spent at work and then basically collapsing after work from the mental trauma (NOT!).  Really, I'm just lazy and when I get home I don't want to do much.  Saturday I spent basically the entire day fixing up the living room.  Let's just say that before, it was pretty yuck, and seeing as how it's the first thing you see when you walk in our front door, I got tired of wanting to jump off a bridge if I saw it one more time like that.  It was cluttered and full of junk and dark and, well, yuck.  I wanted to get some slipcovers for the couches but after a wild goose chase at Macys, then Target, then Bed, Bath and Beyond, I gave up on them.  I did, however, end up with a decent bookshelf (that Kiddo helped me put together) and a couple of nice plants.

I should have taken a before picture so you could see what was really done, but I didn't.  If my brother stops by, he'll let you know how much it's changed.

Yeah, that wall is pink.  I still have to paint, but let me tell you, it's a million times better than it was.  My Stephen King collection finally has a home, as do all of my computer books.  Which is awesome in and of itself because it cleared off space on the bookshelf in my office/the gym for some of my other books.  Both Lovey's aunt and our former roommate were awestruck by the transformation and I am quite happy with it.  That was an all day job.

Saturday night was date night and I even managed to stay awake after all day cleaning.  Lovey and I stepped out for a frozen cocktail since it was just under 8000 degrees.  We walked around but there were way too many people out for me so we called it a little early and went home to sit on the balcony.  Good times.

Sunday we met Lovey's mom, step-dad, sister and aunt for lunch in a fantabulous Mexican restaurant.  Super good stuff.  We returned to la casa de doce trienta with full bellies where I cleaned some more and then played some online poker.

The weekend would not have been complete, however, without some sports.  That's right.  Penguins 2, Flyers 0.  Pens in 5 is the way I'm calling it.  Let's go PENS!

Before I ramble on too much further, let me set this week's goals.

  • Finish the friggin homework before Friday
  • Read 20 pages of the PHP tutorial
  • Clean the office/gym
  • Create a schedule

With that, I'm out!  REGULATORS, Mount Up!
