shakeology

Journey #24 –

There is a reason that I should be writing things down as I think of them or making some sort of audio note of said things. That reason is I freaking forget them. Case in point, I had a topic for a blog yesterday in the later afternoon, but of course, by this point the next day, I’ve forgotten what the topic was. Really sucks, because I thought it was a good one, but apparently not good enough to remember. *shrugs*

I’m at day 24 of the shakes. I’m going to say I’m actually on day 22 because there have been two days where I did not have a shake. That’s not too bad. I’m still not feeling any adverse reactions. I’m not expecting to, but stating that there aren’t any.

Body is still doing its regular things of slim down/bloat/slim down. Menopause is the only thing that’s gonna make that stop and it will come with its own whole new boat of issues. Mood remains level even through pre-, D-, and post-MS. (yes, moods for pre, during, and post period)

It’s 3pm now. That sums up the day. It’s been research-heavy all day and my eyes may fall out of my head soon. Of course that’s an exaggeration. I hope. But I’ll tell you that I’ve seen enough error logs for today.

Talk of these logs is once again proving that I have some sort of education ADD. I have a folder of bookmarks for education. On the list of things I want to learn: WordPress, leviwand, hula hooping, rollerskating, silk fans, and FabPole.

Each of them has the ability to hold my attention for mere moments. Ugh! This is why I have a meditation practice (I’m trying to) in the mornings. Get focused and get on with the day. I’m finding that I may need a second session around mid-day to get re-centered.

I still have a few things to knock out for work and for play. Hopefully at some point I’ll remember what I wanted to write about yesterday and get it done. Til then.

Journey 17 – T Sizzle

Nope. No way. Uh uh. There is nothing to do with that football player here. GTFOH. In this case, the T is for TFL. We can also say it’s for tushie. What the hell am I talking about? I’m talking about a 3am wakeup call that sends painful tingles down your leg. And you might think you can walk it off, but first you’ve got to struggle to just get out of the bed….all while doing your best not to grunt and wake your hubby. Yay.

Luckily, I have some of the tools to fix myself in the home arsenal. Massage wands, percussion massager, inversion table, pretty much all of the RadRoller stuff, and other stretching tools, but I’m still lacking the mother of them all. It’s a little tool I like to call the sander. Why? Because it looks like something you would sand a floor with. Hell, it might actually be the same tool. Waking up in pain was pretty much the straw that broke the camel’s back and it’s getting ordered today.

In the meantime, I managed to punch the muscles into submission with the percussion massager until I could get to the chiropractor today. But even before that, it was (oh so thankfully) mobility and stability day. I didn’t think I was going to be able to get through it and the first round was really rough, but by the third and final round, I started thinking that I didn’t even need to go to the chiropractor. That thinking is incorrect, but I still thought it.

So yes, first thing off I went. I always get the standard neck and back stuff but today I asked for and received the sander because pretty much my whole left side was in spasm. He had to release all of those muscles before he could put things back into place. Imagine it. Muscles are freaking out so badly that they’re pulling bones out of place. Cut it out!

In addition to the regular stuff, I request what I like to think of as the 10-point tuneup. That involves the ankles, knees, hips, elbows, and shoulders. I guess I’d been ignoring my check engine light for too long as I was 80% out of alignment in my tuneup. But lemme tell you something: once everything got put back into place, it was like an instant head rush/high/ With everything back into its optimal position, I felt like a million bucks!

I guess the moral of the story here is to take care of your body, folks. It can do some magical shit if you treat it right. I’m treating it right with these shakes. At the halfway point of month one, I think it’s cleared the extra poop out of the ole colon. I’d really like to see if/how it’s changed my bloodwork in a month, BUT I even more really don’t want to visit the vampires. As such, I’m gonna just have to go by feeling and looking. Looking good, Billy Ray!

Nothing new to report on the shake touchpoints. Rolling along at an even keel for everything. So with that, I’ll take my leave. Just a reminder that tomorrow is Thirsty Thursday and no one has sent me any messages. I’m gonna have to go into my own damn bank. Fine. See you then.

Journey 16 – CIZE It Up

Yeah, so already I know that today’s post is simply going to be all over the place. This is one of those days where I didn’t really have a topic in mind to write about, which made it harder to pick a video header (that I don’t need but damn if I’m gonna write without one) which sent me down the YouTube rabbit hole. But I’m back and I’m ready to blather on about nothing in particular.

In the odd event that you’re wondering about that title, CIZE is a workout program from Shaun T. He uses this song at the end of the program and boy lemme tell you, even though I’ve done it numerous times, I always get the feels when I dance along with this one. I know not all of you will get that, but if you’ve been a choreographer, have put together a little ditty, or even just love dance, I think you do.

OMG, I simply cannot today. So, Shakeology, I had you today and you are not fixing my mooooooood. What’s up with that? I’m not even gonna blame it on that though. I knew when I looked in the mirror and it was confirmed when I stepped on the scale that I’m ovulating and so all rules are totally out the window. Eat what I want and be cranky all I want. LOL, doesn’t bode well for class tonight. Pushups until I’m tired!

Speaking of being tired, I feel that I am getting appropriately tired at the appropriate times. I do wish that I could consistently stay asleep for a little longer than I am. Part of this comes with having to pee but part comes with my constant struggle of opening these hips and probably breaking up a decade or more of scar tissue in there. The other day I literally heard and felt a pop that felt like it freed up at least a year of oppression.

Every post doesn’t have to be a book and today it’s just going to be a note. I’m going to do a Pants (Size) Off Dance Off challenge next month (in addition to the bike rides because I’m crazy like that) based on dancy things from Shaun T. If by some chance you’re reading this and you want in on it, best to go follow me on IG. In the meantime, I’m out!

FORE!! Journey #15

Bwahahahahaha! This cover shot is the absolute best. Yes, this is old, but it will never get old. I love me the heck out of some Ricky Fowler and his Japanese/Native American ass. Plus dirtbikes and stuff. Cool dude. (Now watch someone come along and say how Ricky did some terrible thing because we all know that I don’t pay attention to what’s going on in the media.)

From the amount I talk about it (hardly at all), I don’t suppose that you would know that I own a set of golf clubs. And not just any set of golf clubs, I’ve got a left-handed ladies set which is like finding a needle on a monkey-colored vest on a monkey sitting on a purple unicorn that just ran into a haystack of glitter. In other words, for some reason the golf world doesn’t think I exist. Hellooooooooo! Over heeeeeeeeeeere! LOL! I just looked at a major online golf retailer and a full set is $1300. I definitely did not pay that much. Nowhere near that much. Not even 5 years ago when I got them. GTFOH.

Anyway, me, hubby, and my quite reasonably priced clubs went out to TopGolf on Friday. We’ve been here for just over three years now and haven’t been out to a range. We legit went to the range more in Colorado than in Florida. That’s weird, but it’s true. When we last left our heroine at the driving range in Colorado, every single thing she hit with her driver was going so far left it was ridiculous. Yes, my lefty ass had a crazy slice. I say had because out of nowhere, I hit everything straight. That slice was nowhere to be seen. I amazed myself. Granted, I wasn’t hitting them very far – I think I maxed out at around 120 yd in the air and a total distance of around 170 yds – but they were going straight and that is a giant step. That slice was literally the reason I wouldn’t go out on a course. But watch out now! I think I’m ready to add golf to the huge list of things I want to practice (and then don’t, lol). PS. Angry Birds over there is absolutely hilarious. Best addition ever.

Side note: I never actually looked up how far is average for women to hit their drivers. I just did. 140 – 200 yards. I’m not doing too badly for an amateur.

Over the weekend, I did not eat my best life, let me tell you. I ate ice cream and brownies and my bloated belly and the scale told me all about it today. I also skipped my shake on Sunday, mainly because I just was too lazy to make the effort. That’s pretty shitty of me, but I’m past it already. Missing one day in 14 is not going to be the end of anyone’s world, least of all mine. I did have a moment of craving for it, but that craving (nor my husband’s mentions) wasn’t strong enough to make me get up and hit the Nutribullet.

All else remains on track. No sleeping late. Plenty of energy. Nothing stops the brown express. I went ahead and made that to-do list so I think I’m going to go check off write a blog post and then check off a few more things. Have a great day!

Thirsty Ass – Journey #11

Well hey there! Yep, I missed yesterday but sometimes, I just don’t have anything to say. I mean, outside of what’s going on in the journey. You know what? I’m cool with that. Believe me, especially if you don’t/haven’t write/written on a regular basis, it isn’t always easy to just pound out 750 words that aren’t complete nonsense. I mean, I don’t always get to 750 and a lot of the times it IS nonsense. But hey, nobody’s perfect.

Thursday is such a great day. It’s almost the weekend and in this case, it’s even closer since I took the day off tomorrow. So yep, today is my Friday. *cue the Johnny Kemp because I also just got paid* I’m thinking about making it Thirsty Thursdays. No, I won’t be handing out beverages, frosty or otherwise, but I might still be causing moisture. BWAHAHAHA. Short story erotica on Thursdays? Erotic friend fiction a la Tina Belcher? If Tina was writing like I write, then Bob and Linda have a hell of a lot more to worry about than they think and Jairo is only the beginning.

Anywho, I think that’ll be a great idea to go along with my Thongstand Thursday on IG. That is going to remain ongoing, but I think that story time can wait until next week to begin. Besides, I just thought about that. I’ll need to think more about a story to write. I’m even open to making this like Whose Line Is It Anyway. Go ahead and throw out a scenario and I’ll write in it. Oh, and if you DO throw out that request, I’m not going to mention whose requests I’m fulfilling. You’ll just have to figure out if I’ve written for you.

In the last day and a half, the thought of making a to-do list has really been in the forefront of my mind. Why? No idea. It isn’t as though I have so many things to do in a day. However, I do like checking off boxes, I do like making the actual lists (because erasable colored pens!). Also, I suppose that I feel as though I’ve accomplished more in a day if I have checked things off of my list. Knowing me, I’d like to think that I could sit down in the morning and make this list, but I know that my mornings tend to get all kinds of hectic when least expected, so perhaps I should be working on that list the night before. Yeah, that’s the ticket.

If I were REALLY feeling energetic and whatnot, I’d be using my freaking timeblocking. I literally have a whole planner for it. It’s beautiful. And as I look at it, I’m considering buying one for next year as well. Partially because I have a problem with office supplies, partially because I just want it, and partially because I feel like I will be productive using it. I had gotten away from it after I left the nightmare that was real estate, but I think that now is a good time to dial it back in and get my shit together. I mean, I’ve been doing that with my physical body, might as well do it with my time.

And speaking of the physical body, yep, still on the Shakeology. I may miss days of writing, but I am 11 days strong on the shakes. I don’t think I realized it when it was happening, but I think I had a mood dip, maybe yesterday or the day before into yesterday. Everything felt a little overwhelming like I wanted to just throw it all away. I pushed through it because I’ve had those moments before. Fortunately, it didn’t last overly long.

Energy levels remain at a constant level (I feel like I’m giving a report to the bridge from engineering here) with minor fluxations in the flux capacitors. My warp core continues to have power but never gets breached. If anything, I’d say I have the opposite of cravings the last day or so. I’ve just felt not so much like eating. That happens. It’s nothing new. No poop today. 🙁 But it’s early and I’m still holding out hope. Pretty sure you can still be regular if you miss your time on one day.

Well, I think I have a to-do list to make so I’m gonna go ahead and head out. Don’t forget to throw in your requests! You can put them in the comments or you can message me directly on FB (if that’s how you got here), or you can email your requests to me at sunnyzspinz@gmail.com. Til later!
