Sorry spiders

It must be spider season.  I’ve had to (yes, had to) kill two in the last day.  Now, I’m not complaining, because in the year and almost a half that we’ve been here, I’ve seen a total of 4 spiders in the house.  There were 2 last year at about this time, and now these two.  It would be one thing if you guys were maybe right by a door, but when one of you is in the kitchen (hot water down the drain) and one of you is right by where my head would be when I’m doing floorwork during P90X (shoe smash), you just gotta go.  What if it crawled into my hair?!?!  I might never find it, lol.

Last night I taught my second class at Boulder Spirals.  It was an absolute blast!  I’m getting comfy with being in front of the ladies and teaching and everyone is rockin’ receptive.  Of course, I still have things to work on as I’ll always have things to work on, but I feel like in another couple of months, I’ll just be crushing it.  Also, I’m bringing back leg warmers.  In the classes I’m teaching, we don’t really need that part of the leg for grip, so I’m wearing them.  I think a trip to American Eagle or some online shopping is in my near future.  I can’t help myself.  I like to be cute.  And that’s something that I NEVER thought I would say.

Oooh, yeah.  As a group, we’re working on getting that damned front split.  It’s good though, as it’ll make me want it more.  I’m a little competitive like that.  Stretching is in the goals.  Perhaps I get that split by Halloween.

Work is just so worky!  Crazy things are going on and they’re still just gonna get nuttier.  But, my replacement is picking up everything very quickly.  I was thinking I would come home today and put up the pole or maybe go do some boxing, but then I remember we have a work thing from 4-6.  Fun!  Beer!

Well, time to go.  Have a fantastic day, folks!

So let it be written…

So let it be done!

Yeah, so, if you happened to go to Bellmar Junior High (not middle school), then that phrase ought to ring a bell with you.  I mean, we watched Ben Hur/The Ten Commandments (when that was still allowed)/The Blue and The Gray/The Bridges of Madison County at least once a year and sometimes more depending on what the teachers felt like doing.  It isn’t as bad as it sounds though because back then, teachers actually did some teaching and they worked movies into their curriculum rather than just throwing on a movie because they weren’t feeling like teaching.  Good times.

In other news: SUCCESS!

Last night I taught my first pole class.  Pretty sure that my students enjoyed their time and I’m pretty sure that they’ll be looking forward to coming back to the studio.  I still have some work to do to get the class where I want it (longer warmup, music change, switch up the moves), but for a first time out, it wasn’t bad at all. 🙂

Day 3 of P90X brought Shoulders, Biceps, and Triceps.  And we dare not forget Ab Ripper X.  This morning before beginning, I was a little sore.  I’m guessing that by this time tomorrow, I’ll be feeling some major muscle pain.  Fortunately, I have but to observe class on Thursday and try to refrain from busting out tricks while my body adjusts to this new pain that I’m bringing it.  Dear Glucosamine: GET IN MY BELLY!

There you have it.  That’s my 15 minute brain dump.  Not much, but enough.  Besides, if I just keep writing here, I’ll have nothing left for my book! 😀

Peace, love, and hair grease!
